Formed in August 2001, TxtOrder launched its full service in the United Kingdom in May, 2003, announcing the delivery of its iMAP platform – TxtOrder’s Interactive Messaging and Payments Platform.

iMAP incorporated the UK’s first secure SMS payment solution – allowing people to pay for goods and services on their credit card by sending a simple and secure text message from their mobile phone.

Developed in conjunction with Barclaycard Business and fully compliant with the International Card Scheme Regulations for Visa, MasterCard, Switch / Maestro and JCB cards the iMAP platform also delivered a sophisticated intelligent SMS marketing solution that enables consumers to respond to ‘traditional media’ promotions by sending a simple text message. Responses are instant and automated with messages sent back to the customer’s mobile phone as text messages; to their inbox as rich HTML emails or as information delivered to their door via the postal service. The service even allows an immediate call back to the customer from the business’s call centre.

The launch of TxtOrder’s iMAP platform was supported by clients including Yamaha, Iglu Travel, Next, Noble Cars and Barclaycard.

Since 2003, development of the iMAP platform has continued and TxtOrder now works with major brands and marketing agencies across the UK to drive more cost effective and convenient communications strategies. These strategies recognise the power of the mobile channel within the marketing mix to deliver true ‘any time, anywhere’ customer communications.
